Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use tinned pineapple for this sooji halwa?

Yes. Drain the syrup and chop the pieces, then reduce the sugar a little, because tinned pineapple is already sweet.

How do I stop the halwa from getting lumpy?

Roast the rava in ghee on low flame until aromatic, then pour in the hot pineapple mixture slowly while stirring all the time. Keep stirring until it thickens and leaves the sides of the pan.
