Cooking Steps
- 11. Add water to a pan and bring it to a boil. Add a little salt, then turn off the flame.
- 2Add 70 g of soya chunks, cover the pan, and let them soak for 10 minutes.
- 3Drain the soya chunks thoroughly and squeeze out all the excess water.
- 4Transfer the soya chunks to a blender and blend until they form a smooth paste.
- 5Transfer the soya paste to a mixing bowl.
- 6Add one boiled potato and mash it well.
- 77. Add one finely chopped small onion, three chopped green chillies, salt to taste, ½ teaspoon red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala, and chopped fresh coriander leaves.
- 8Add 3 tablespoons of cornflour and 3–4 tablespoons of water as required.
- 9Mix everything thoroughly until well combined.
- 1010. Shape the mixture into small, round popcorn-sized balls and place them on a plate.
- 11In a separate bowl, add cornflour, salt, red chilli powder, and water. Mix well to prepare a smooth corn flour slurry.
- 1212. Insert a toothpick into each soya ball to hold it easily.
- 13Using the toothpick, dip each ball into the corn flour slurry.
- 14Coat the balls evenly with breadcrumbs.
- 1515. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the coated balls into the hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown and crispy.
- 1616. Remove the crispy soya popcorn and place it on kitchen paper to absorb excess oil.
- 17Sprinkle chaat masala over the hot soya popcorn.
- 18Serve immediately with tomato ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce.
